Chicagoland Speedway will play host to a Firestone Indy Lights race for the ninth time.
The 1.5-mile oval is one of two tracks (Kentucky Speedway is the other) to have hosted Firestone Indy Lights races in every year since the series was formed under Indy Racing League sanction in 2002.
Sam Schmidt Motorsports has won twice at Chicagoland Speedway
Logan Gomez' 2007 win at Chicagoland is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the closest finish in an automobile race (.0005 of a second).
